User Experience / Reporting Analyst
Key Skillsets (not all mandatory, but reflects type of background desired): Screen Design, Dashboard Design, Reporting Design, Web Portal Design, Questionnaire Design, User Experience Design, Data Visualization, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Financial Services, Business Requirements Definition (BRD), Functional Requirements Definition (FRD), BI Design Tools (e.g., Business Objects, Websphere, Crystal Reports, Cognos, Oracle, Omniture, Web Trends, Axure, iRise, etc. - - none mandatory), MS Office Description: Intrinsic is seeking an experienced User Experience/User Interface Analyst to assist our direct Client’s IT Risk Management Strategy group with the definition, design, user interface specifications, and prototyping for the management reporting portal, dashboards, questionnaires, and hard reports to be developed for the IT Risk Management / Strategy customers, stakeholders, and management. This is a requirements, design, and prototyping role. It does not require advanced programming of the solution, but will require enough knowledge to incorporate requirements into Business Requirements Documents and Functional Requirements Documents, and help build simple mockups and prototypes of portals, dashboards, questionnaires, and reports. Someone who has designed and implemented Management Dashboards, Web-based Portals, Business Intelligence applications and/or Interactive Reporting applications – including design of the User Interface and setting direction on underlying data requirements, will be ideal. Graphic design skills are a major part of this capability. Qualified candidates will likely have at least 7 - 10 + years of experience, preferably at least in part within Financial Services. Experience with information architecture, data visualization, interaction design, navigation design, and content best practices will be helpful. Candidates usually have a BS/BA degree in information design, information architecture, graphic design, cognitive psychology, or related fields, but relevant experience is more important. Responsibilities: Assess planned and existing reporting, portals, questionnaires, computer screens, and other user interfaces to design a clear, rational, consistent, and optimal user experience across the Risk Management Program. Produce senior management reporting and screen design prototypes to demonstrate production-quality deliverables and provide user experience guidance. Take a lead role in detailing user experience, questionnaire, and reporting solutions, including data and layout requirements. Clearly articulate and present design solutions, rational, issues and tradeoffs. Ensure detailed user-interface specifications and design patterns are integrated into BRDs and FRDs. Qualifications: Experience in quickly creating screen designs, management reports, dashboards or advanced visualizations that tell a coherent story Ability to drive optimal reporting and user experiences, measured in terms of usability, intuitiveness, consistency, business metrics and time to market Ability to envision and transform complex interactions into simple interfaces across multiple platforms and systems Ability to ask the right questions of business and IT stakeholders to resolve issues and make fast decisions Experience creating deliverables such as wireframes, taxonomies, content inventories, site maps, screen flows or process diagrams, questionnaires, functional requirements, storyboards, graphs, drilldowns, etc. Experience collaborating with business stakeholders, systems analysts, and project managers in designing reporting and portal solutions Understanding of underlying data structures and standards behind portals, dashboards, and reports Experience documenting Business Requirements and Functional Requirements (standard Business Analysis artifacts) Familiarity with foundational MS Office (MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Visio) Must have Strong presentation, oral and written communication skills; strong customer focus; and ability to work independently with minimum supervision. The engagement is based on Wall Street, NYC. Little to no travel is expected. Expected start date is early July, 2012. This is a long term program. Candidate should have business analysis as well as user interface experience. Duration likely 18 months to 2 years or longer. Please submit MS Word resumes via email only.
