Engineer - Electrical/Electronic
Perform all aspects of electrical/electronic engineering and product research and development including detailed design, implementation and documentation of digital processing, analog control, serevo mechanism and input/output circuits and systems as well as single and three phase power circuits Additionally: Perform breadboarding and printed circuit board layouts Specify electrical and electronic system hardware requirements based on current and future product needs Assure the proper application of off-the-shelf versus proprietary electrical and electronic hardware Assure electrical and electronic systems are compliant with applicable domestic and international industry standards including safety, RoHS and EMI/EMC requirements Decide product assembly structure and breakdown Assure the proper documentation is in place so the product can be assembled and tested In today’s job market, “who you know” matters more than ever – and that’s why you should get to know Volt. Requirements: Ability to translate marketing and/or customer requirements into detailed technical requirements with the conceptualization, evaluation and trade-off of various design approaches Specific knowledge of real-time control concepts and industrial business technologies/standards. Selection and application of embedded hardware. Understanding of software issues and how to relate to real-time control systems Knowledge of, and ability to design to, domestic and international codes or standards for machinery and industrial electrical/electronic systems safety, environmental and EMI/EMC requirements Data acquisition, signal processing and servo system/circuit design, layout and documentation Power, signal and data cabling design and documentation Ability to effectively communicate with contract manufacturers for PCA assembly. Experience with analog, digital, servo motor motion control, general feedback control and power circuitry design development, documentation and failure diagnosis. Experience in product development involving real-time motion control. Experience in creating manufacturing documentation (assembly test procedures), assembly drawings and BOM generation. System level design experience, computer-aided analysis, simulation and design of circuits and feedback control systems Experience with gas-tungsten and gas metal welding arc characteristics and phenomenon Experience with designing systems for the remote control of equipment for severe industrial, outdoor and offshore environments and the ability to create control system software.
