Our client has an excellent opportunity for a Windows Server Engineer This position will report to the Regional Windows Server Platform Manager This person will be a member of a team that manages the Windows Server estate This includes Microsoft Windows Servers as well as a number of Microsoft and non Microsoft technologies used to support our business The support engineer will be responsible for the support and maintenance of the Microsoft infrastructure The team supports technologies including Active Directory DNS WINS DHCP file and print Exchange 2003 ESX VMware Blackberry and Citrix As other technologies emerge the engineer will be expected to provide support for these systems also A broad knowledge of HP Hardware Networks and Storage is required. Key Responsibilities · Work to resolve problem tickets assigned to the Windows Server team · Patching of all Windows Servers as well as the deployment of approved software upgrades. As part of the Windows Team you will be responsible for supporting the global Windows infrastructure in a follow the sun server support model across Asia Pacific Europe and the Americas. Responsible for proactive server monitoring performance monitoring and application tuning using a variety of corporate tools · Implement monitor and maintain Windows Server based services · Generate reports for daily checks and real time and capacity reporting · Maintain an accurate global Windows Server inventory including spare parts Responsible for documenting and updating internal processes and guidelines with direct responsibility of ensuring these processes are applied consistently across the global Window server estate · Responsible for configuration management activities within the Global Windows Server environment with direct responsibility of documentation and remediation of inconsistencies Key Skills · Strong communication and documentation skills · Experience supporting critical Windows 2000 2003 2008 servers in a large size production environment · Experience with AD WINS DNS DHCP and IIS · Significant knowledge of Windows Server security · Experience with Microsoft patch deployment processes WSUS SMS SCCM · Aware of corporate governance Sarbanes Oxley and Audit controls · Experience working with HP Server Hardware and Software Desirable additional experience · Exchange 2007 2010 and Content Filtering Technologies · VMware Products ESXi Virtual Center · Citrix Presentation Server XenApp Servers and Remote Connectivity Solutions · Windows scripting PowerShell and VB NET · Broad knowledge of systems management products and processes HP SIM SCCM SCCOM · BlueCoat technologies Proxy AV Web Content filtering · The position will be required to work shifts which include working on weekends · The work day could be staggered over the week depending on need Keywords: Network Engineering
