My client has an immediate vacancy for a Senior Server Engineer (3rd Line). The contract is for initially one month, with a view to being extended up to 3 months whilst they secure a permanent position for the role. The Role We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Specialist who can technically contribute to the full range of skills involved in third line support to critical systems with 5+ yrs. experience. This role is to work in Technical Services team to design and install the entire Infrastructure for internal and external customers. The person will be taking charge of our internal and external infrastructure, no team lead responsibilities, but they will be delegating work to others. Technical Experience Required Windows Server 2003-2008 R2 Windows 7 VMWARE vSphere 4 & 5, View 5 Dell Management Systems e.g. DRAC, SMS, Sound knowledge/troubleshooting of TCP/IP including use of packet sniffers ISA 2006/TMG VMWARE vSphere 4 & 5, View 5 Microsoft Exchange 2007 - 2010 TCP/IP protocols - TCP/IP, NLB, DNS, DHCP & SNMP Redhat Linux administration including scripting (bash awk etc.) Apache HTTPD and Tomcat servers MySQL server management Documentation & Visio skills for comprehensive Infrastructure design Strong experience of designing solutions to support Corporate IT Infrastructure and business systems Excellent knowledge of all aspects of IT infrastructure Exceptional understanding of IT infrastructure related industry initiatives Experience of working within project teams, particularly for scoping ,investigation, requirements gathering and design activities Ability to work in a busy, fast moving environment Behavioural/Other Requirements Willing to undertake travel throughout the UK with the possibility of overnight stays away from home for short periods of time ITIL Foundation certification VCP (Desirable) Own Car Must be able to work out of office hours/provide on call support if necessary This is a great opportunity for not only a contractor but also a permanent employee who is immediately available and would consider working on a contract basis with a view to going permanent.
