Graphic Designer - 3 month contract This position will be based in Canary Wharf, London as part of the International GWM Banking and Derivatives Technology department which is a team of approximately 85 people split between London, New Jersey, Chennai, Singapore and Australia. The role is to participate in the graphical user interface design for a range of client facing applications. The GWM International Technology Group is responsible for directing and delivering business technology solutions to our clients and business partners and assisting the banking, treasury and financial products groups in their focus on growth whilst maintaining IT cost efficiency, service quality and adhering to regulatory and audit constraints. The incumbent must have a flexible mind-set, extensive multi-tasking capacity and excellent communication skills as well as creative flair, up-to-date knowledge of industry software and a professional approach to time, costs and deadlines. Specific responsibilities will be:- • Working with the technology team and the business clients to develop creative ideas and concepts using the appropriate media and style to align the graphical user interface design with best in class competitors utilizing web development technologies. • Interpreting the client's business needs and developing a concept to suit their purpose; • Developing design briefs by gathering information and data through research; • Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts; • Using innovation to redefine a design brief within the constraints of cost and time; • Keeping abreast of emerging technologies in new media • Leveraging existing firm standards to provide core templates and standards for future application interface delivery • Delivering technical prototypes to development team for implementation into business applications REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Experience: - Minimum of five years experience in a similar role in a financial environment - Proven track record of designing and delivering Web and Desktop applications interface designs - Experience of Web Development Technologies: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, Silverlight and other web delivery technologies. - Experience of .NET Development GUI development.
