Experis is in need of a Desktop Technician for a 6-8 month consulting opportunity in Springfield Ohio. Due to clients rapid growth, the Desktop Technician will be responsible for building desktops and moving equipment to keep up with the demand in the influx in hires, etc. This position may also work on the implementation of installations and upgrades for software and hardware. This position may also provide technical instruction to others. In this Desktop Technician, you can expect to 1) Identify, diagnose and resolve desktop issues of low to moderate risk and complexity 2) Coordinate resolution across Technology Services departmental groups where multiple end-user associates have been impacted 3) Coordinate desktop component and phone moves affecting multiple users 4) Prepare hardware/software installations and participate in upgrades 5) Recognize opportunities for system or procedure improvements and make recommendations 6) Provide training to others (customers) 7) Handles activities of low risk and complexity or pieces of moderate risk activities 8) Manage multiple issues concurrently 9) Business Site potential responsibilities: a. Collaboration with 3rd party / client providers of software, hardware or service b. Tiered support responsibilities, including: Office security / badge admin Tape backup admin c. On site support for Tier 3 d. Office equipment support REQUIREMENTS: -At least 1 year of professional experience in this line of work -Functional knowledge of supported client operating systems configuration and installation in a Novell -environment, NT and Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 7 -Functional knowledge of Citrix desktop front end and server backend administration -Functional understanding of VDI, Server, Telephony and Network support -Functional knowledge of supported application configuration and installations -Functional knowledge of supported client/server hardware configurations and installations -Knowledge of diagnostic tools for problem detection and resolution -Knowledge of LAN design and inter-relatedness of distributed systems functions -Experience with Disk Imaging and automated software distribution tools and qualities. -Good oral and written communication skills -Must be able to lift 35 lbs onto multi-level surfaces repeatedly throughout the day Compensation will be between $15-$20/hr all inclusive depending on the amount/relevance of experience.
