Senior HR Officer � 6 month fixed term contract based in London The Company An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior HR Officer to work in London with travel to additional sites in Kent on a fortnightly basis reporting to the Head of Human Resources, where the successful candidate will provide a comprehensive HR and employee relations advisory service as may be required to the Information, Technology and Change Department. The department is engaged in a number of high impact and strategically important projects within the Insurance markets � as a result it has increased headcount by approximately 40% to deliver these business goals. Key accountabilities � Support the HR Manager and HR Director in delivering the on-going business changes within the ITC (Information Technology and Change) business unit. � Competently manage any employee relations issues including disciplinaries, grievances and consultations, acting as an example for other HR officers to follow. � Assisting, owning and delivering on specific actions relating to various HR initiatives and projects within the Insurance Sector � Advising managers and leaders on HR best practice � Supporting managers with absence management meetings, career development discussions and performance management issues � Assist in developing a competency based framework for the business unit. � Any other ad-hoc HR and administrative activities as directed Required Skills and Experience Necessary: � CIPD qualified or part qualified � Good knowledge of employment law and practical application of it in the workplace � Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. � Able to project confidence and credibility in discussions with ITC Senior Leaders. � Significant experience of handling employee relations issues including disciplinaries, grievances and consultations � Able to manage confidential and sensitive data in a professional and discreet manner � Excellent judgment skills and a common sense approach � Experience of working in a fast-paced, changing and demanding environment � Ability to prioritise own workload when faced with competing requests to meet deadlines � Displays utmost integrity in all dealings � Expertise in Excel and other Microsoft Office packages Desirable: � Previous experience within the Information Technology sector or IT departments � Familiar with SFIA competency model � Numerate � Previous experience of delivering basic management training courses � Previous experience of working in a HR shared services model Excellent opportunity not to be missed. 6 month contract. Basic salary of �28,000-�34,000 on offer plus package.
