Geomodeller - Brisbane
An opportunity is available to join a major oil and gas operating company in the role of Geomodeller based in Brisbane. The purpose of the role is to construct subsurface geological models for input into field development plans and the maturation/revision of CSG reserves volumes. This requires the integration of all relevant subsurface data including well logs, seismic, core and production trends which will then be upscaled/integrated into associated dynamic models for history matching. Responsibilities will include; Construction of subsurface geological models including structural modelling, correlation of key stratigraphic horizons, definition of cell volumes and architecture, property modelling and up scaling Estimation of coal seam gas reserves for input into and optimisation of field development plans and ongoing well and reservoir management of existing, production assets. Planning of future drilling operations, both appraisal and development, to achieve reserves maturation and production targets. Mentor junior geoscience staff to ensure knowledge and skill progression and sustainability within the geoscience group. Peer reviews of other subsurface modelling projects within the geoscience and development groups. Provision of information and data to all regulatory bodies to ensure governmental compliance and maintain our "licence to operate". Assist with joint venture liaison for APLNG's non-operated assets as needed. Suitable candidates will have; Experience in oil and gas exploration and production with preference for CSG related background. Extensive experience in subsurface static modelling and up scaling into dynamic models. Previous work in coal-bearing stratigraphy preferred. Significant experience in regional play analysis through the application of geologic and geophysical concepts to identify areas of greater prospectively. Project management skills to ensure efficient and effective planning and execution of subsurface modelling projects. Advanced knowledge of other subsurface disciplines, eg, reservoir engineering, petro physics, well engineering, geophysics, etc). Extensive experience in well and seismic planning and all operational requirements and procedures. Degree in relevant discipline preferably a major in Geophysics and/or Geology. A salary range of $120,000 - $130,000 is available for this role depending on skills and experience, Keywords: Energy
