The team will be instrumenting various parts of the Hadoop code, running benchmarks or representative workloads on a variety of system configurations, determining recommended improvements and prototyping recommendations with follow-on validation. Qualifications: Degree in Computer Engineering or related discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Electrical Engineering) Demonstrated strong fluency with Java code is a must. Hands-on experience with Hadoop or similar applications is a plus. Knowledge of storage systems, I/O drivers and Linux Filesystems are as plus. Benchmarking skills and fluency in C or C++ is a plus.
