Configuration Manager. Our Columbus, OH client has a contract need for a Configuration Manager for a major project where he or she will be responsible for performing Configuration Management Specific duties, which include developing and maintaining the project Configuration Management plan and policies, configuration item identification, application build management, configuration status accounting, and configuration management procedures are followed. This person will perform configuration management audits and support quality assurance in validation of product artifacts and deliverables. The Configuration Manager will perform product builds and maintain build scripts. The Configuration Manager must be team oriented and contribute to the overall project objectives and configuration management functions. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: • Perform Configuration Management duties to assist software development teams; Define Application Build and deployment packages; Auto application build procedures; Prepare software version and label for development package deployments; Manage software branching and merging activities; Control software changes that will be released into application environments • Provide Configuration Manage Reporting / Analysis; Identify software component dependencies between concurrent software development projects; Manage software component dependencies being release into application environments; Audit configuration management procedures performed by software developers; Provide Audit Documentation when required by client or external audit activities • Provide Configuration Manage Reporting / Analysis; Configuration Management Strategy Documentation; Configuration Management Procedures Documentation; Configuration Management integration with Release Management Procedures; Evaluation of Configuration Management Toolsets Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Candidate must have 5-7 years of experience and practical knowledge of the Configuration Management function and processes. - Possess a background and/or knowledge in Software Engineering processes - Experience with TeamCity continuous integration and build management tool - Experience with Subversion code management software - Experience with IIS 7.x and Windows Server 2008 - Understanding of the .Net Framework and .Net development - Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Experience performing configuration management tasks to support multiple concurrent new functionality and operational development teams - Experience defining, implementing and maintaining a configuration manageme - Understand / Experience with ITIL framework for Configuration Management   Fast Switch, Ltd. is a 14-year-old IT Consulting company with offices in Columbus, OH and Detroit, MI doing business in almost half the states in the union.  We’re a financially strong, privately-held company that is 100% consultant and client focused.  You are our most important asset!
