Responsibilities: System Architecture Review and Planning Validation of technical requirements Define application and technical architecture. Confirmation of architecture plans through prototyping Work with project management team and business unit in the requirements gathering process to determine high level designs Research and validate technologies required to meet the business needs, provide the technical solution based on it. Coding and designing low level design of more complex features using best practices for development and ensuring they are used across the project Ensuring proper use of current technical resources for completion of project Conduct code reviews of the system being developed Assist in testing efforts, perform unit testing and fixes during testing phase Create/document deployment and operational procedures Communicating risks and issues to project management Deliverables: All documentation regarding system design Detailed System Architecture Diagram Data-flow Diagram Class Diagrams Activity and State Diagrams Component Diagrams Deployment Diagrams Workflow Diagrams Object Model Configurations Build and unit tested modules for the system Use cases and misuse cases for handoff to QA team MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE The preferred candidate must possess: A minimum of 8 years experience in architecting and implementing TeamSite and OpenDeploy solutions A minimum 5 years experience architecting and implementing LiveSite Content Services/Display Services, SitePublisher, IDOL, and Optimost A minimum of 8 years experience in architecting, developing and implementing solutions using J2EE, XSL and Perl technologies Experience in planning, designing and implementing highly available application server topologies Experience in migrating or upgrading TeamSite from 6.7 to 7.2 Strong knowledge and experience with Oracle portal, Tomcat, Spring and Hibernate Strong knowledge of application and system performance monitoring Strong knowledge of LDAP, identity and access management and single sign-on technologies Experience with AJAX, DHTML, JavaScript, CSS Experience with Oracle database, SQL, PL-SQL Strong Knowledge of Apache, UNIX, Solaris, and Linux Strong knowledge of Application Performance monitoring and management tools and techniques Ability to plan technical architecture and develop documentation Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate to all project members and stakeholders; must be a team player who works well with technical and non-technical resources Must take initiative, be a decisive decision-maker and show confidence in decisions made Solid knowledge of testing tools and techniques Solid knowledge of source and configuration management methodologies, continuous integration tools and build tools such as ANT or Maven Must be able to take strategic direction from executive management and participate in strategic planning activities throughout the lifetime of the project Must be able to see tasks through to completion without significant guidance. Must be able to provide documentation on their work.
