I am currently looking for a contract Linux Database expert for a contract opportunity in London. This is an initial 3 month position. The candidate will ideally have a build and configuration focus in their previous positions with extensive experience in the following areas * Experience of automating the build and maintenance of enterprise class platforms, including ESX virtualisation, physical servers and network devices. * Significant experience in the maintenance of multiple environments with diverse operating systems and application stacks to support testing and deployment activities. * Evidence of problem solving in a complex services environment. * Experience of the likely problems and pitfalls of running such a large system and strategies for managing it * Evidence of working in teams, particularly distributed teams in different offices/locations * Demonstrate ability to work under pressure and to keep to deadlines * Excellent attention to detail. * Significant experience in building, automating and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise systems * Significant experience of Apache, Tomcat and JBoss environments. * Strong background in building servers and configurations using Puppet and Cobbler. * Significant experience of virtualisation tools and experience in building large scale application stacks * Experience of building highly scalable systems, and awareness of caching, load balancing & related tools * Experience of setting up monitoring and alert systems using Zenoss and SNMP Knowledge of development languages is also a desired trait.
