Import/ Export Supervisor
Main Responsibilities: *Responsible for commodity assignments and compliance with regulatory and Company quality and performance standards. *Ensuring effective use of MRP and achievement of on time delivery, quality, corrective action responses and value added - cost out activities. Work with buyers to establish Long Term Agreements on part families and 'Value Added Parts' where applicable, and develop suppliers that would procure their own raw materials and processes and ship parts or assemblies. *Responsible for the Export/Import country compliance processes and all traffic and export enquiries including quotations and purchase orders. *Prepare/maintain exporting of current status and progress of all import/exports such as transportation, insurance, storage, customs agents etc and follow up and control all activities with those parties. *Prepare and verify shipping documentation and arrange and monitor transportation *Evaluates current, inherited (through adoptions) and potential sources of supply to identify business growth opportunities. *Maintain effective relationship with suppliers and keep abreast of their capabilities and latest technologies *Oversee the selection of sources of supply, negotiate terms and conditions, and review purchase orders in ERP system. *Participate and or lead 'continuous improvement team(s) and value added activities. *Prepare and track supplier performance while working with buyers to improve supplier performance with regard to Supplier On-Time Delivery, MRP delivery dates being met, Quality and service. *Full line management responsibility for logistics and other allocated resources. Other Responsibilities:Adhere to legislation governing employment, including but not restricted to; health and safety, data protection, equal opportunities ensuring compliance with local policies and procedures. Comply with statutory requirements and regulations and Company policies. Undertake such other duties commensurate with the role that may be required from time to time. Experience: *Experience in a similar solo role with a minimum of 5 years experience in an aerospace manufacturing or engineering environment. *The incumbent must have a thorough understanding of Aerospace quality 'flow down' requirements, which includes coordination of returns, rework, repair and exchange of defective materials and oversee the issue of requests for corrective action and corrective action. Skills / Abilities *Thorough knowledge of import/export country compliance processes, and able to develop own and function metrics to evidence and measure compliance. *Deal with all traffic and export tasks, including enquiries, quotations and purchase orders. Prepare and verify shipping documentation and arrange and monitor transportation. *Work closely with third party and outsourced service providers relating to function. *Develop own and team plan and day to day objectives as well as long term functional and individual performance objectives. *Able to demonstrate effective communication skills (both written and verbal) with stakeholders at all levels. *Possesses through working knowledge of ERP systems, ability to read blueprints, clear understanding of multi level bills of materials, price management, cost out and cost analysis. *Prepare/maintain current status reports and progress of all import/export activity to operational and senior management. *Responsible for implementing processes consistent with local regulations and for driving process adherence. *Proficient in the use of MS Office applications including ability to produce and analyse reports and management information. *Demonstrates leadership in communicating business and functional goals/programmes and processes. Communicates and negotiates using diplomacy and manages conflict effectively. *Builds and maintains effective relationships. *Able to plan and priorities work orders and team tasking and able to resolve issues through immediate action or short term planning. *Able to work in team environment with strong people management skills. Educational / Professional Attainments -Degree in relevant discipline from accredited university or collage (or able to demonstrate equivalent experience). -Academic qualifications to include pass in English and Mathematics. -Evidence of continuous professional development in the supply chain/logistics arena as well as development of people and leadership skills.
