Location: San Francisco, CA Duration: 12 months, with the possibility of extension and converting permanent General Note: Ideal candidates will be required to interview on-site in San Francisco at their own expense. Position Overview: My client is seeking a highly experienced Java Developer/Engineer to take hit the ground running in a collaborative and fast paced environment (although less experienced candidates will be considered as well). The day-to-day responsibilities include working with the production team to create user stories and to discuss them in technical detail with engineering. The candidate must be able to plan, scope, coordinate, and discuss all work that is to be taken during the iteration. The candidate will have enough technical skills to work on tasks and bug fixing as well if asked to. Key Responsibilities: * Act as the technical professional on product teams, providing subject matter expertise and guidance * Drive strategic code-sharing and architecture for projects, ensuring extensible design * Work with and mentor engineers to ensure milestone tasks are completed on schedule within an Agile cycle * Maintain a positive balance between driving technology quality and supporting the project schedule * Track and report out on changes to project schedule, target platforms and features * Perform due diligence on potential development and technology partners, evaluating tools, techniques, personnel and processes while being mindful of technical debt Required Technical Skills and Experience: * Very Strong in Java/J2EE technologies * Experience with any Content Management System * Experience in web services will be preferable. * Experience in using any RDMS databases like MySQL or Oracle. * Experience in working with on Linux servers will be a plus. * Experience in Spring framework is a plus. * Experience in Hibernate is a plus * Experience in using caching frameworks like Memcache is a plus. * Exposure to some web site optimizing tools like Omniture, Google Analytics etc. is a plus * Experience in HTML/CSS and JavaScript will be plus. * Very strong communication skills * Eager to learn new technologies and programming languages Join TEKsystems() and get your career on the fast track.
