Design - Book Cover for Superior Test Preparation
Organization name Superior Test Preparation Description of the organization and its target audience Help students prepare for the ACT Test, a test that partly determines which colleges a high school student can attend. A higher test score means a student can attend better colleges. This book is a study guide for the ACT Test. Industry Education Description An 8.5 x 11 book cover -- a template is attached in an Excel file that gives the exact size requirements. The book is titled : The ACT Test: Power Preparation Here are my basic thoughts for the cover, but you can be creative because I'm open to anything. On the top of the front cover, in smaller print, the name of my company: Superior Test Preparation. I attached 2 logos I have used before, but feel free to change the colors or the entire logo. I've only used this logo a couple times, so it's not that important. Below that, in larger print, the title : The ACT Test: Power Preparation Below that, a graphic. Stock images are OK, and I can pay extra if something is perfect. I would probably prefer original art, though. For the graphic I would like something that shows power (since the title is "power preparation") and also involves academics. Maybe a cartoon strongman holding up books. Or maybe someone playing the carnival game where you slam down a hammer and try to register a high score. Maybe a karate guy chopping books, lightning hitting a pencil, etc... Be creative here!! Some particular things you could incorporate in the graphic: The ACT test is scored on a 1 - 36 scale. 36 is a perfect score. For example, the hammer carnival game could have a high score of 36 at the top. The five sections of the ACT test are: English, Math, Reading, Science, and Writing. For example, the books the strongman holds could have these names. Or maybe lightning could hit a stack of these books. Again these are just ideas. Anything combining the ACT Test and something with power will work! I want something fun, but not too goofy - this book will be sold to high schools, so it has to look professional. Lastly for the front cover, where it fits (possibly across the bottom or next to the graphic in bullet points) write: "Targeted Tips" "Proven Strategies" "Real ACT Questions Explained" ADDITION: Please add "2012 - 2013 Edition" somewhere on the cover. -------- If you prefer to only do a front cover first, and then do the back after getting my feedback, that is OK. ----- On the back, I would like the following text: About The ACT Test: Power Preparation Developed by a respected ACT tutor with input from education professionals and real students, the Power Preparation system has proven to be among the most effective and efficient methods to prepare for the ACT Test. The Power Preparation method focuses on targeted concepts that help students think the same way ACT Test writers think. Past users of the system have averaged an over three point increase in composite score in just 25 hours of total preparation time. The ACT Test: Power Preparation is the first book to detail the tips, strategies, and academic concepts that form the Power Preparation system. This book also contains answer explanations to a real ACT Test, so students can see the concepts applied on actual ACT Test questions. Just as importantly, the complete system is provided in an easy-reading format that will challenge but never intimidate its readers. Good luck! Please underline or italicize the title (it appears in the first line and the first sentence of the second paragraph) Finally, if possible, I was thinking of putting another graphic underneath the text on the back cover. This could be similar to the one on the front, but can be simpler. For example, if the front has a karate guy chopping the books, the back could be a pic of the books chopped in half. Again, just an idea. I also have uploaded a barcode for the bottom right corner of the back. Thanks, I am really looking forward to seeing what you come up with. There is also a good chance I will need further graphic design for my website, so I'm hoping to find someone I can continue to work with. Notes To simplify - The front is: Logo - Title - Graphic - text The back is: text - graphic - barcode Be creative, though. You are free to change any of this. Thank you!!
