A well-established publisher of professional textbooks for financial-market professionals in central London is looking to appoint a Commissioning Editor to cover a maternity leave with a view to make the position permanent due to growth plans. You will work on titles covering the breadth of the financial markets, from banking and finance, investment management, structured finance, law and tax. Responsibilities will include managing currently commissioned titles, commissioning new titles, liasing with authors, production team and marketing, writing copy for website and monthly Newsletter, attending conferences and research. Candidates should have previous editorial experience and have good attention to detail. This role requires candidates to be proactive and they should have some knowledge of what is required for commissioning. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Whilst financial knowledge is not essential, an awareness of current events, market trends and competition is very useful for the role. Being able to meet deadlines and multi-tasking is required.
