Design - website design for Zope
Organization name Zope Description of the organization and its target audience We are a technology company providing customer relation management (CRM) solutions to small retail businesses as well as content management and web hosting services to media companies. We also have a strong commitment to the open source community. Industry Technology Existing website to reference http://www.zope.com Number of pages needed 3 Page descriptions Homepage ~~~~~~~~ A landing page providing site navigation and attention-getting graphics and layout, with large, easy to read fonts. This page will contain little to no prose, but rather will "tease" a flagship product with graphics and brief ad copy. The site navigation should be visible on all pages. An example navigation element may include: - Products - Community - About Us - Contact Us - Blog Product Detail ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The product detail page should provide details on one specific product. It will still contain very little prose, but rather will be a list of high-profile features of the product, with a brief description and graphics demonstrating each feature (screenshots, graphs, etc.). Story ~~~~~ The "story" page will be the page type we will use for pages needing prose, for example, telling the company history or detailing our open source contributions. While this page will contain prose written in a narrative style, we would still like to break up the prose with graphics or interesting typography to make it visually appealing. Style/theme ideas for the website None specified. What to avoid Small typography, "walls of text", and pretty much anything on the current www.zope.com. Inspirational websites https://mailgun.net/ A very brief description of the service and a call to action above the fold, with just enough description below the fold to pique interest without being overwhelming. It also has clever styling hinting at their industry with an "envelope" theme. http://twitter.github.com/bootstrap…/hero.html While this is almost the "default" style for internet startups nowadays, it makes for some very easy to read and navigate sites. www.zope.org This is the landing page for our sister open source community (note the .org rather than .com). While it is geared towards developers, it gives an idea of our color palette and branding, and has a better text-per-page ratio than the current www.zope.com. Notes None specified.
