Our client, located in San Francisco, California, is seeking an Accounting Supervisor. Responsibilities: Prepares journal entries, and maintains and reconciles ledger accounts Uses office automated systems to input data, generate reports, conduct specialized research projects and responds to inquiries Provides and maintains record of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions Interpret reports and records for managers Prepare schedules as requested by management or an outside auditor Perform analysis and written explanation of financial statement and general ledger line items for upper management utilizing good business judgment, keeping materiality and type of account in mind. Responsible for high-level projects such as system implementations, process documentation, etc Perform monthly financial close activities including update and maintain the General Ledger, analysis of account variances and reporting of results to management Prepare internal and external reporting packages Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits May oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual close packages Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting to Corporate Finance, including P&L, cash flow, flash and actual-to-budget variance reconciliation's and submissions Interact with internal and external parties on finance and accounting related issues Prepare technical documents on accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP Support Senior Management, Corporate, Tax and Audit for ad-hoc projects as needed Keep manager informed of any potential issues, liabilities or opportunities Directly supervise one or more staff accounting personnel who will be direct reports Perform other accounting duties as assigned This contractor will be joining the Accounting department. The team consists of about 22 people with a combination of heads down workers as well as a lot of interaction within the team when need be. Top 3 Skills: At least 4-5 years of accounting and financial reporting experience. General Ledger Accounting Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite CPA would be nice but is not required
