Web Designer/Developer Cleveland, OH *** Local canddiates only *** The Interface Designer III is responsible for the visual design and implementation of both internal and external websites, web applications, and graphics. This person will ensure that the integrity of the brand is present in all facets of the online experience, designing websites, emails, mobile applications and any external media. Use your experience and skills with visual design, typography, layout, and color theory to create visually appealing designs while adhering to business requirements, design standards and usability best practices. Create visual designs from a combination of user research, user experience artifacts (wireframes, prototypes, etc…) and functional specifications provided by Business Analysts. Must be comfortable collaborating in the creative process with internal stakeholders from all departments and levels of the organization, as well as external vendors. The ideal candidate will be highly collaborative, self motivated, detail oriented, experienced in designing/manipulating photo imagery, with exceptional typography sensibility and be able to mentor and partner with the design team. The ideal candidate will be researching new ideas to engage our online shoppers with compelling and interactive experiences, will research trends and keep abreast of new technologies and software. This person will also help establish and enforce design governances through the use of design or standards library and standards documentation across all digital media. Some interest in social media is expected. Execution of all projects from concept to implementation. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES • Create conceptual designs that maintain existing branding into websites, web applications and graphics. • Translate print direct pieces to websites, emails and any external media, while maintaining brand and campaign aesthetics • 8+ years experience in Communication Design • Must have 5-8 years experience using the Adobe Creative Suite, and other industry standard graphic design applications • BA in Design or similar discipline • Strong design portfolio demonstrating capabilities, and be able to explain your role within each project. • Demonstrated experience coding Web Standards compliant markup using HTML & CSS in an accessible and SEO/Analytics-friendly manner. • Understand usability’s place in the design process and be familiar with User-Centered Design principles and methodologies • Travel may be required up to 20% of the time. QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in MIS, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Human Computer Interaction, Graphic Design • Experience working in a Microsoft (.Net, SharePoint) environment • Copywriting skills • Exposure to future web technologies like HTML5, CSS3, responsive web design, • Experience working with JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery • Experience building wireframes and prototypes using Axure • Rich Internet Application design patterns
