Overview: Allied Consultants, Inc. is an Austin-based firm which has for 20 years been a premier provider of technical and business professionals to clients in Texas. We are currently seeking an experienced Software Test Analyst to be a key resource on a technical services team. Responsibilities: Performs testing for highly complex computer programming. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. The position involves all stages of QA/testing. Examples of work performed: Work with Business Partners and SOS IT to analyze and assist the Developers to debug TEAM. Develops, publishes, and implements test plans for large complex Java/SQL program (TEAM). Role may potentially include the evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of automated test tools and strategies. Writes, implements, and reports status for system test cases for testing. Analyzes test cases and provides regular progress reports. Participates in the testing process through test reviews and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Assists in developing solutions to software related problems. Will work with Java (J2EE)/XML development, Web-based architectures, Object Oriented analysis and design. Share technical knowledge and expertise with fellow team members. Performs related work as assigned Qualifications: Required Skills/Experience: 6 Years Experience testing Java programming. 8 Years Testing knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of computer programming and systems analysis. 8 Years Skilled in the use of computer equipment and in testing programs for computer applications. 8 Years Ability to analyze problems and assist in developing software solutions. 6 Years General understanding of object modeling concepts and techniques. 2 Years SQL knowledge or programming experience. 2 Years Experience in testing Java web applications including experience with JSP and JSF 1 Years QA/Testing support for Java version upgrades of applications Preferred Skills/Experience: 2 Years Hands on UNIX experience 2 Years JBoss (or Java Application Server) testing experience 2 Years WAS (Websphere Application Sever) testing experience 2 Years Silk Automated Tool, NeoLoad Performance Testing, or Badboy software 5 Years Proven ability to quickly learn new Business rules. 5 Years Experience investigating issues in PL/SQL, stored procedures, and with Oracle or similar enterprise databases.
