Position Summary: This position is responsible for meeting with decision makers, system owners, and end users to define business, and operational requirements. Work with Business users and the Data Warehouse team to identify and resolve systems issues. The Business Analyst is responsible for providing healthcare subject matter expertise. A major role involves ensuring that the correct business rules are in place to assure that only quality data enters the data warehouse and that ETL processes properly treat and enhance the data. The Business Analyst would need to use SQL extensively to investigate claims and pharmacy data. Essential Functions: Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issues. Lead design sessions in prototyping new systems for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow. Analyze, Define and Review business rules in the data warehouse Work with BI developers to define analytic reports Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new BI applications, and enhancements to existing applications. Identify and establish scope and parameters of systems analysis in order to define outcome criteria and measure-taking actions. Job Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Business Information/Business Administration is required Experience: Six years’ experience covering the following areas: Experience in data warehousing environments Working technical knowledge of ETL processes and data warehouse design Strong Expertise in SQL Healthcare experience and related business knowledge Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts Experience in gathering business requirements, developing technical specifications per requirements Experience in organizing and conducting meetings Experience in planning, designing, development, and deployment of BI applications, and enhancements to existing applications Skills: SQL Knowledge ETL Tool knowledge like ODI/Informatica/Talend Data warehouse expertise MS Word and Visio expertise Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Excellent analytical skills Abilities: Ability to troubleshoot and manage problems independently Ability to integrate multiple inter-related aspects of the system for a comprehensive approach to design Ability to work collaboratively with users to understand business requirements Ability to learn new technologies Keen attention to detail Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language Highly self-motivated and directed Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment Strong customer service orientation
