A Medical (clinical) Laboratory near Syracuse, NY is seeking to add a Temporary to Permanent MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN to it's staff. Associates Degree required. * LOCATED in the center of New York State, the city of Syracuse (Population 156k city and county 467k) is in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region which includes many Resorts, Casinos, and close to Lake Ontario, Lake Oneida, the St. Lawrence River, the Adirondack Mountains and the Thousand Islands. Completion of a accredited and approved training program. ASCP certification is required. * JOB DESCRIPTION: The Medical Laboratory Technicians will work in a clinical laboratory setting under the guidance and supervision of a Clinical Medical Technologist (CMT). * Possess a working knowledge of clinical laboratory equipment * Help to prepare and analyze slides and specimens of human blood, tissue, or other cells. * Help to identify abnormalities in the samples such as malignancies, bacteria, parasites, or genetic abnormalities. * Assist in blood-typing, or other routine blood tests. * Posses the knowledge and application of OSHA CLIA rules and regulations. * Maintain a clean and sterile working environment as well as minor maintenance and cleaning of equipment. * BENEFITS: Health care insurance is provided at employee’s expense when hired on a temporary basis.
