Software Test Engineer- QA/web/automation testing
Job Title: Software Developer/Test Engineer ( QA) Duration: 6 months + Location: Bothell, WA Rate: 30/hr on W2 Your work will grow your skills and help ship software that improves remote service of medical devices! Department Description As a Software Engineer in the Global Services Engineering R&D group, you will be part of a small, expert, and agile team. This group designs, develops, and delivers critical architecture, solutions, and tools for our customer service workforce in call centers, remote locations, and in the field (on-site). The GSE R&D group works in an IT environment to help us meet our goals of providing world-class, global remote service solutions to reduce medical device repair times, reduce costs, and increase revenues. Candidate Responsibilities In this role you will apply your skills to help design and implement solutions that improve quality of software releases to a global production environment. You will be help to automate the testing and deployment of solutions that help prevent or reduce medical device downtime. Other responsibilities include verification of functionality (including debug and code-level verifications), quickly debug system failures to identify root cause and participate in code reviews for solutions in a variety of programming languages. You will be expected to take ownership of your assignments and will be given the authority to make decisions to drive tasks to completion. You will also be expected to deliver quality work in a demanding yet fun and rewarding environment. You will work under the direction of a seasoned Software Development Engineer in Test to deliver a capstone solution that is small enough in scope to be completed within six months. Experience/Skills Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent. Demonstrable interest in testing, test methodologies and processes Strong debugging/troubleshooting skills Experience testing web applications is a must Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must. Demonstrable ability to create detailed documentation of bugs including reproduction steps Working knowledge of the Visual Studio environment, C#, .NET development, and .NET web services highly desired. Experience with Scripting languages, test tools (Test Manager, Bugzilla, etc.) and version control are strong pluses A good understanding of software development processes is a plus Development Environment Planning & Scheduling: Agile development using scrum (2-3 week sprints) Team globally distributed across Bothell WA (USA), India, and The Netherlands Deployments to 4+ environments with Servers in 3+ geo-hosted datacenters Languages/Technologies include: C#, .NET 2.0 - 4.0, JavaScript, HTML, DHTML, ASP.NET, XML, XSLT, SQL, and more Development Tools include: Microsoft Visual Studio Team System 2010 (with Team Foundation Server and Test Professional 2010), BizTalk 2006 R2, Telerik WebUI Test Studio and RAD Development controls, and select open source tools. Architectures include: Software Oriented Architecture (SOA) with Web Services, Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), and Business Rule Engine (BRE). AJAX Web Applications, and Client Server Win32 applications, script & agent-based deployments, and Citrix-hosted virtualized application execution. Database: SQL Server 2008 R2 (with Analysis Services and Reporting Services) Datacenters include: Windows 2008 R2, Windows 2003, clustering, F5 BigIP, Firewalls, vLANs, and more.
