SHE Co-ordinator
PRIMARY ROLE OBJECTIVES: In line with business & legislative requirements, to support the SHEQ Manager in implementing and achieving company SHE philosophy, strategy & actions. To encourage and promote positive safety actions and behaviours and to provide support as required. MAJOR DUTIES: · To work effectively and positively with all company employees, customers, contractors and visitors to promote a positive safety culture and awareness. To ensure awareness of personal SHE responsibilities to themselves, their colleagues and the business. · To provide relevant and accurate SHE advice, information and guidance to both company and contract personnel. To include direction on company procedure, current and future legislative compliance requirements, changes and amendments. · To positively represent company and the SHE team at internal and external forums requiring a SHE presence. To provide positive contributions, completion of actions and timely reporting to other employees. · To undertake accurate audits, assessments and inspections to the required standards and timescales, communicating and closing-out action points to completion. · To review external audit and inspection reports, communicating and ensuring closeout of action points. As required, to best represent the company’s interests and support external auditors and inspectors. · To undertake investigations into incidents, preparing accurate and timely reports and ensuring appropriate communication and close out of recommendations. · To prepare timely and accurate information for the company SHE communication mechanisms. To include reports, manuals, newsletters, electronic communications, meetings, documentation and training sessions, that both the business and external agencies require. · As required, to act as a focal point for recognised external authorities, such as enforcement and legislative authorities, with regard to SHE matters. · As required, to undertake assigned projects and investigations, providing realistic recommendations in line with legislative and business requirements, enabling improvements. SKILLS REQUIRED: · Minimum of 3 GCSE or equivalent · Up to date knowledge of Uislation regarding SHE requirements. · SHE auditing best practice current trends and issues. · Permit to work systems. · Risk assessment best practice techniques. · Plant health & safety systems & procedures. · Microsoft Office- Word, Excel. · Power Point - intermediate. · Outlook · Proven track record of delivering required business results, inspiring trust & confidence. · Committed to self-development. · Actively seeks out opportunities to put learning into practice.
