A North London Broadcasting company are currently looking for an accounts assistant on a 12 month maternity cover. Main Responsibilities: * Responsible for the prompt and accurate application of multi-currency and cross currency receipts * Responsible for performing complex account reconciliations * Responsible for the management of multiple multi-currency bank accounts and reconciliations * Preparing and completing accruals and inter-company journals across both SL and GL. * Ensuring cash queries are dealt with efficiently and systematically. * Responsible for performing month end closes for Channel Rep ledgers and ensure this is completed within tight deadlines - including: preparing financial statements, bank reconciliations, debtors' recs, etc * Preparation and production of month end packs- including various debtor reports * Ability to investigate and resolve historic reconciliation problems quickly and efficiently * Responsible for escalating any unresolved issues promptly. * Regular liaison with overseas offices to resolve queries, build relationships and communication * Responsible for accurate housekeeping of accounts and timely escalation of queries * Provide support and cover for Credit Controllers. Knowledge, Skills & Experience: * Full responsibility for month end close. * Credit Control experience an advantage * Proven ability to perform complex account reconciliations across multi-currencies * Proven ability to manage own workload efficiently * Excellent excel skills - inc. ability to create and maintain complex reports & graphs and ability to use and interpret pivot tables * Strong communication, organisational and negotiation skills * Ability to work well under pressure and to work to tight deadlines * Enthusiastic and pro-active team player * Positive 'get the job done' attitude * Used to working to targets * Oracle11i or 12 experience preferred Keywords: Accounting
