Engineering Technician
This position is temporary status with an anticipated end date of December 31, 2012. You will support engineering team members through the coordination of development project activities, supporting test and validation efforts including data acquisition and reporting, preparing design review material and technical documentation, modeling and/or drafting in UG NX, and performing general project administration tasks. This primary role for this position is to support the members of the product development team. This support will include; Test and validation support primarily in the forms of test stand set-up, test coordination, data acquisition, and organization of the results in to a format suitable for review. CAD support primarily in the form of drafting, but potentially including some modeling. Preparation of parasolids and statements of work for CFD and FEA. Creation of technical presentations and/or design review materials. Maintenance of design documents to capture all decisions made during the development process and revision history of the technology. Preparation and shipment of parts for test between campuses and vendors. Preparation of part requisition forms, serialization and inspection documentation for incoming parts, and updates of project budget forms. Other project related activities which could include supporting downstream teams (manufacturing, assembly, and production engineering) and/or other engineering groups within the department. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred Preferred prior professional work experience in engineering and/or manufacturing company Attention to detail is a must. This role will involve test, validation, and design activities as well as technical administrative tasks including design review documentation and evaluation and summary of large quantities of data gathered during test Knowledge in UG modeling and drafting Experienced with GD&T Skilled at preparing presentations and occasionally delivering those presentations Willing to travel occasionally (<5%) Well organized including the ability to effectively multi-task while meeting scheduled commitments Proficient with Microsoft Office tools Husky Injection Molding Systems Ltd. is the world's largest brand name supplier of injection molding equipment and services to the plastics industry.
