The successful applicant will be based at Newport. Job Purpose : To develop profitable business with new clients . Skills and Knowledge: - excellent telesales skills that include communication/listening skills and an ability to generate sales leads , self motivated - excellent teamwork ability with the ability to obtain sales information from the branch, candidates and other internal personnel - conduct sales activity such as the provision of tenders and including sales visits supporting the local operational manager - excellent IT skills including e-mail, spreadsheets, use of social media and job web sites - local knowledge of the economic, political, government agencies and geographic market place in which they operate, including competitors 2. Background information Duties : Develop business with new clients: · Identify prospective clients · Discover cross selling opportunities · Know your market place & Competition · Understand the nature of clients business and placement opportunities Typical activities for Sales Consultants include: · Making an average of 15 ‘cold’ and follow up telephone calls to prospective clients on a daily basis, resulting in at least 3 sales visits arranged per week · listening to customer requirements and presenting appropriately to make a sale; · maintaining and developing relationships with existing customers in person and via telephone calls and emails and visits;; · responding to incoming email and phone enquiries; · acting as a contact between a company and its existing and potential markets; · gathering market and customer information; · representing the organisation at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations; · challenging any objections with a view to getting the customer to buy; · creating detailed proposal documents, often as part of a formal bidding process that is largely dictated by the prospective customer; · making accurate, rapid cost calculations and providing customers with quotations; · attending team meeting and sharing best practice with colleagues.
