CALLING ALL PHYSIOS/STUDENTS/ASSISTANTS - CAN YOU HELP???? (AND GAIN GREAT EXPERIENCE AT THE ROYAL LONDON) My friend (English - age 28) has just suffered from a haemorragic stroke affecting the left cortex (brocas area). It has left her with right-sided weakness, she has very little or no feeling. Her speech and writing pathway is slightly affected but really she has been lucky (I'm an SLT so very happy about this!). She is currently at the Royal London receiving hardly any physio/OT and it could be weeks before she has a place at an intensive rehab centre. She really just wants to begin recovery as soon as possible. She would manage the notes so that all parties involved are sharing information. I think the main thing is needing support to stand, put weight on the leg, just simple exercises to train her brain and just to know she is doing all she can without getting weaker.
