Principal Java Engineer required for large Central London based Media Group working on their core platfrom team for all web, mobile and tablet products! As the Principal Java Engineer (Spring, Hibernate, ActiveMQ) you will be the Senior most member of a team of 4 and will come from a background where you have mentored, lead and batted at the architect level. This is a 3 month rolling contract in a household name in entertainment and their shared platform group. Knowledge & Experience Essential *Deep hands-on experience of engineering for the web at scale *Strong knowledge of Java and supporting frameworks (Spring, Hibernate) on Linux *Experience working with messaging (ActiveMQ) and the data layer (MySQL, Couch) *Confidence architecting for scale and resilience across multiple data centres *A strong grasp of internet architecture such as HTTP, caching *Fluent scripting in python, bash or similar *Solid team-working skills including coaching, mentoring and effective communication Desirable *Web development skills such as PHP, (X)HTML, Javascript, CSS *
