Hi! My name is Jen and I have more business ideas than I know what to do with. Literally. I don't know what to do with them. I need help understanding how to protect my ideas before I share them with people or seek out people to help me develop them. Some of my questions are: 1) Can you help me create a Non-Disclosure Agreement and possibly a Non-Compete Agreement? Basically I want to make sure that anyone I hire to help me develop the business doesn't steal my idea and run with it. (For example, I'd love to use Kickstarter or Quirky, but how do I protect my idea?) 2) How do I patent/trademark a business name? I have some catchy business names I'd like to nail down before someone else uses them. Can you explain this process to me? Also, for one of the business names, I've noticed that another company IS already using it (but mine would be better of course)... How do I make sure THEY haven't trademarked the name already? 3) Some of the advertising ideas I have are a play on words of other advertising campaigns. How do I make sure I'm not infringing on copyright or something? 4) How do you patent an idea? What's the difference between a patent, a copyright, and a trademark?
