We are looking for an experienced individual to join our dynamic team immediately with a focus of designing, implementing, and documenting a secure network solution as part of an internal business restructure.   Main Activities/Tasks   ·  Architect and implement a multiple site heterogenous network including o Firewalls and VPN concentrators and site-to-site VPN links o A variety of switches and routers o Traditional and IP PBX solutions o LAN users on multiple platforms (Windows, OSX, Solaris, Linux, and FreeBSD) o VPN users on multiple platforms (as above) and also iOS, Android o SAN devices o EC2 server instances for development, demonstration and deployment ·  Provide a secure solution meeting user requirements using current equipment where suitable, advising on and procuring new equipment where required ·  Provide an IT infrastructure allowing o Provision of required services to network above, including backup, email, DNS, DHCP, windows ADS, and others as required o Ongoing management of day to day network running o Secure VPN ingress by external users and site to site links o Monitoring and performance improvement of network utilisation ·  Document the infrastructure for handover to ongoing management / maintenance     Experience & Skill   ·  5+ year experience with Network Administration or Engineering and Security ·  Demonstrated vendor-independent knowledge of network technology (with a focus on layers 2-4 of the OSI model) ·  VLAN and spanning tree configuration and troubleshooting ·  Excellent understanding of routing protocols ·  Strong focus on security fundamentals ·  Excellent problem solving skills ·  Strong interpersonal and communication skills ·  Experience within a heterogeneous environment   It is essential that the candidate be degree qualified in IT, CS or Engineering and have relevant industry certifications (i.e. Juniper, Cisco etc).
