Our Client in Raleigh-Durham is looking for an experience Unix Administrator with solid communication skills for a potential contract to hire opportunity. Our ideal candidate will be a well-rounded UNIX administrator with a solid foundation in UNIX fundamentals and the ability to think through complex problems. What do you need to do this job? 4+ years of hands-on Linux/Sun Solaris administration experience in team environments working on multiple-component systems. Prior R&D experience preferred experience Extensive knowledge of Linux/Sun Solaris systems administration and configuration Strong knowledge of a scripting language (ex.Bash/Shell PHP/Perl/Python) Experience with storage architecture principles and administration Experience with deep performance analysis and optimization of distributed systems Experience with networking architecture principles and administration Strong hardware & troubleshooting skills A mature, self-starter able to achieve goals without detailed directions Excellent oral and written technical communication skills Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Ability to quickly understand business and technical requirements Understanding of Windows Platforms
