Senior Oracle DBA
Requirement Senior Oracle DBA Oracle DBA experience, 5+ years in a 24/7/365 environment Oracle 10G RAC, Standby Databases AIX is desired. Perl and Shell scripting Location: FL Duration: 3 Months + Required: Face-Face interview after Telephonic Senior Oracle DBA Projects: Production Support of the Oracle Server Farm including Siebel applications Scope of work: Responsible for Administrating Oracle server Databases. Review and QA Database Programs Required skills/competencies: Oracle Database Administrator, Operations Job Summary for Senior Oracle DBA, Operations You will be part of the team responsible for the implementation, planning, coordination, configuration, installation, and ongoing management of all Oracle Databases. Key responsibilities include the identification and resolution of hardware, software or database problems/outages in any of the Client's services. These responsibilities require 24x7 coverage and response to systems alerts during after-hour periods. Specific database performance issues, error messages or service problems will be routed directly to the Database Administrator. You will work closely with Systems Engineering to test planned databases upgrades, including definitions, structures, and/or documentation, as well as provide input into long-range database requirements and operational guidelines. Additionally you will use best operating practices to establish and maintain security and integrity controls. The DBA will formulate and monitor policies, procedures and standards relating to database management; propose and implement enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system; proactively research and locate necessary tools and processes to identify and proactively avert troublesome trends, as they develop in order to ensure a stable performance environment for the Client's production environment. Required Skills/Experience: * Bachelor's degree * 5-7 years Oracle DBA experience, 5+ years in a 24/7/365 environment * Experience with highly available database solutions / architectures such as Oracle 10G RAC, Standby Databases. * Experience in database design required. * Experience with AIX is desired. * Oracle Performance Tuning Experience * Experience working in secure enterprise database environments * Experience with RMAN * Experience performing a full restore to an Oracle database from tape. * Disaster Recovery Experience. * Strong SQL Programming, preferably Oracle with the ability to write complex SQL queries - understanding of views, stored procedures, triggers & an understanding of query optimization. * Excellent SQL and PL/SQL skills * Strong Perl and Shell scripting * Experience with RMAN * Security experience (experience working in secure enterprise database environments) * Experience with database layouts on high performance disk subsystems required In addition candidate must exhibit the following: * Candidate MUST have extensive experience working in structured change management processes for highly available enterprise database systems * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal * Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills conducive to team development * Ability to perform needs assessment and handle technical objections * Strong Leadership skills Additional Information: * Experience with Oracle GoldenGate or other replication tools * Experience with Data Warehouse Minimum of 2 years of experience with administration of a large-scale Siebel enterprise. * Excellent understanding of Siebel application architecture. * Experience with installation/configuration of Siebel Enterprise Servers. * Experience with Repository Migration (dev to prod). * Experience with migration/deployment of SRFs, SIFs, etc. * Excellent understanding of Siebel security and data model. * Competency in writing/analyzing PL/SQL, Korn shell scripts, et al. * Experience with Siebel repository upgrades and application patches. Preferred Skills: Certification as a Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) would be a plus although not required. Preferred Education: Bachelors Degree Required Certifications: Certification as a Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (OCP) would be a plus although not required. Travel Required: Yes Travel Description: Ship Board Visits-- Based on project schedule. Standard work week (M-F 8am - 5pm): Extented Hours and Weekend Work are expected Other comments: Will be required to hold the Duty phone 1 week out of every month. (24x7)
