DEVELOPER JAVA J2EE CAPITAL MARKETS EXPERIENCE New York City, NY DEVELOPER JAVA J2EE CAPITAL MARKETS EXPERIENCE Major financial services firm located in Downtown, New York City is seeking fifteen Java Developers with five of seven years of overall experience for long term contract to hire positions. The ideal candidates must possess Capital Markets experience. The firm is looking for fifteen Java / J2EE Developers to join their Capital Markets Team which currently numbers six hundred plus globally. The ideal candidates will have the opportunity to travel to the firms additional offices located in Chicago and Toronto, Canada. All positions will be based out of New York City. All candidates must meet the following *basic* requirements: Must have capital markets experience with middle or back office initiatives (must have 2 years). Must be willing and available for full-time transition after 3-6 months period of time, in the case of temp-to-perm. Duties and Responsibilities are as follows: Full SDLC activities from design, programming, testing, scripting and installation. Ensure that applications are developed to full usability in terms of robustness, scalability and security Ensuring all code complies with the highest security and technical standards Participate in the definition of both functional and non-functional requirements of a system and define the development strategy, standards and support tools. Write source code, adapt existing components, and test the developed components as units creating test stubs and test data as necessary. Require an understanding of the overall system architecture and the impact of changes to the system. Define and ensure compliance to standards and best practices for UI, Mid-Tier, data access and database development including change management, release management, & source code control. Desired Skills & Experience: We are looking for suitably qualified and experienced Java Developers who must possess experience in the capital markets industry. Technical Skills: Application Development experience with ANY or all of the below: Java, J2EE, C, C++ Financial Knowledge/Experience: Any knowledge or experience with ANY or all of the below is desirable: Credit Derivatives, Credit Risk, Equities, Equity Derivatives, Options, Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, FX, Bonds, Futures, FRAs, Swaps, Market Data, Interest Rate Risk, Interest Rate Derivatives Requirements for this position: 2-4 years of experience in a Java Developer role Experience of working in a commercial business environment Strong Mathematics background is preferred A proven track record in Software Development End to end experience of the project lifecycle Effective communication skills, both oral and written Strong analytical, decision-making and organization skills are required Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines in a rapidly changing environment Proven experience interacting directly with end users Results orientated with good communication and interpersonal skill This position pays $80.00 per hour on a w-2 hourly basis.
