Customer has requested that Consultant provide assessments in the areas of: Data Storage Best Practices and Strategies Backup and Recovery Best Practices and Strategies Disaster Recovery Best Practices and Strategies Current Data Utilization and Demand Growth Projections This engagement shall consist of the following phases: I. Capacity Upgrade/Installation of Additional Storage to Existing Hitachi Frame(s) II. Discovery and Storage Assessment of Existing Storage Environment Infrastructure III. Analysis and Upgrade of Existing HDS Software within Customer Environment DELIVERABLES Phase I - Capacity Upgrade/Installation of Additional Storage to Existing Hitachi Frame(s) Install Hitachi Universal Volume Manager® License Prepare external storage implementation planning documentation Do discovery of the defined external storage configuration (LUNs defined on external array(s) Planning and implementation of new or net-new storage to VSP External Storage, including presentation of new storage to the designated Host Storage Domains. Implement virtual device mapping from External Storage to VSP Create CLPR(s) for external storage pools Phase II - Discovery and Storage Assessment of Existing Storage Environment Infrastructure Capture the customer's current storage infrastructure as-is state Logically map the customer's host and application connectivity to the storage Identify the backup schedules for the respective storage devices Assess current storage capacity for identified storage devices Document all the findings noted above in graphical format with annotations about specific storage and connectivity/mapping details Development of Storage and Back-Up Plan Recommendations for Infrastructure Optimization and Priorities Phase III - Analysis and Upgrade of Existing HDS Software within Customer Environment Implementation or upgrade, configuration, and validation of Hitachi Device Manager Implementation or upgrade, configuration, and validation of Hitachi Tiered Storage Manager Implementation or upgrade, configuration, and validation of Hitachi Tuning Manager
