Business Analyst, Columbia, MD Our client is seeking a Business Analyst for a contract to hire opportunity in Columbia, MD. Job Description The Business Analyst plays a critical role in creating and maintaining the strategic partnership between Business needs and Technology delivery. The Business Analyst will be responsible for eliciting and developing business requirements. The Analyst will work closely with the Business Partner and Business Subject Matter Expert(s) in the definition, testing, training, implementation, and support of functional requirements. The Analyst will participate in the full software development lifecycle starting with identifying requirements via industry standard analysis techniques such as data and process flow modeling, workflow analysis, and functional analysis. The Analyst will solicit requirements through interviews, meetings, and/or existing systems documentation or procedures. The Analyst will work with software engineering to ensure system design meets business needs. The Analyst will participate in the development of a test plan and will occasionally perform testing. Responsibilities The role will involve the creation/revision of documentation which may include the following artifacts and deliverables: Business Requirements, User Stories, Process Flows, System Documentation, Change Requests The role will contribute to the following types of project artifacts and deliverables: Scope Document, Project Plan, System Design, Test Plan Requirements BA/BS Degree, in a technology related field or other degree preferred Business Analyst Certification from a recognized industry organization preferred 5 - 7 years experience in building and specifying mission critical business applications in the role of a BA or Systems Analyst 3+ years QA experience 1-2 years in a .Net development environment 1-2 years working in an Agile/Scrum or Agile/Kanban environment Demonstrated knowledge of application programming, database and system design Demonstrated knowledge of Internet, Intranet, Extranet and client/server architectures Demonstrated knowledge of how legacy and web-based systems interface with each other 8+ years in financial services or related industry preferred Please Note Only those individuals selected for an interview will be contacted.
