Sitec are currently looking to recruit a Electrical Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer for a nuclear MoD establishment based in Reading. The position is for an estimated 12 month contract and is paying circa �55 on an hourly basis. Electrical Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer Location - Reading Rate - Circa �55 per hour Successful applicants will be required to be Security Cleared prior to appointment. Job/Role Purpose: The purpose of this role is to assist with the delivery of EC&I elements of the Project Process Plant and Equipment. This is achieved by undertaking the following activities: � Identify and detail design EC&I interfaces between PP&E and other equipment � Provide technical guidance to the PP&E package leads and the Projects Electrical installation contractor. � Meeting EC&I system requirements. � Engage with PP&E vendors, modifiers and electrical contractors to negotiate EC&I interfaces and find engineering solutions where conflicts arise. � Ensure compliance of EC&I designs with project requirements, design intent and company standards and provide guidance to equipment vendors and modifiers to achieve compliance � Assess the technical impact of changes to the design � Extract relevant information from company specifications and standards to instruct the M+E contractor. Accountabilities: Provide technical guidance to the project delivery teams Provide internal engineering design and consultancy capability within appointed discipline Ensure maintenance of appointed discipline standards Ensure investigation of designs for compliance including all legal regulatory requirements Ensure RLI of Quality of Engineering in discipline and compliance with the Project Book and Project Processes. Ensure the preparation and delivery of design solutions which fully comply with all applicable current legislation , British Standards and Company Design Standards to agreed time, cost and quality requirements. Ensure compliance in all activities undertaken, with company safety, quality, environmental, security and health requirements. Provide appropriate education and training with respect to engineering guides and standards. Key Responsibilities: To ensure that I understand and apply my responsibilities with regard to the Company�s Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards. Qualifications Chartered Engineer or Actively working towards Chartered Engineering Status Member of an appropriate professional Engineering institute Knowledge � Detailed technical knowledge of control systems, electronic instrumentation, networks, process software and data management. � Detailed technical knowledge of LV switchgear and distribution systems, lighting design, earthing design, cabling and electrical installation works. � Knowledge of lightning and surge protection principles, products and design standards. � Awareness of contractual relationships with suppliers and contractors. � Knowledge of construction and installation processes through all phases of site works, especially Safe Systems of Work and Work Control procedures. Experience Comprehensive experience with a good overall depth and breadth of experience covering all the key elements in the Controls and Instrumentation industry.
