Leasehold Customer Service Officer
Our client is seeking an experienced Leasehold Customer Service Officer on an initial 6 month contract. You will be responsible for the management of current and former service charge arrears, raising Direct Debits, processing refunds and overpayments. To deal with enquiries from leaseholders regarding outstanding balances and making arrangements for the repayment of arrears, in accordance with procedures Deal with accounts-related enquiries from leaseholders, in person, through correspondence and by telephone. To undertake checking of Service Charge Estimates and Actual accounts ensuring accuracy and respond to queries concerning certification To prepare documentation necessary for court action and liaise with legal representatives To respond to enquiries from leaseholders or their legal representatives about service charges, both in the office and over the telephone, and give advice and assistance appropriate to their circumstances. Ensure leaseholder files and records are updated using the appropriate corporate systems and to use information technology, as necessary, for monitoring, record keeping and statistical analysis purposes Maintain spreadsheets to keep account of aged service charge arrears debt EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 1 year's experience of working in a team within leasehold services Experience of customer services Minimum of 1 year's experience of income collection and managing debt within a public sector Housing environment SKILLS AND ABILITIES: *Able to communicate clearly, courteously and patiently with members of the public *Able to prioritise workload and use own initiative *Able to use a range of IT systems *Able to make a positive contribution to deliver value for money *The ability to work and liaise effectively with a range of people and services to ensure effective debt recovery *Ability to write and present reports PERSONAL STYLE AND BEHAVIOUR: *Deals promptly with problems and finds appropriate solutions *Participates as a team member effectively and co-operatively *Able to meet tight deadlines OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: *Willingness to be flexible and carry out additional duties to ensure the successful operation of services *Willing to work at any location within the Borough as directed
