Professional development is often given to staff to keep staff informed of new strategies/techniques to improve expertise The Teaching Assistant job will involve supporting pupils who are struggling with their literacy skills, providing additional literacy support, supporting reading and supporting children during the teaching of systematic phonics. You will work alongside the teacher in delivering activities that are age appropriate and engaging. You may also be required to support children with dyslexia and deliver literacy interventions.
