We are seeking a Photo Editor who will be responsible for readying all images for our site launch, working closely with editors, product and production teams. The Photo Editor will report to the Editor in Chief. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in location photography as well as photo research. Must be comfortable working within a budget and on a very tight deadline. He or she will have a pool of photographers/contacts, and the ability to get desired results from photographers. Candidate must have excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills as well as experience in Photoshop and optimizing photos for web. We are looking for a Photo Editor with a Big Apple-beating heart. From Upper East Side shopping to Lower East Side hot spots, Broadway hits to Brooklyn flea markets, iconic attractions to underground trends, if it's happening in the five boroughs of New York, there's a good chance you know about it. From the posh to gritty, you love this city and know how to capture its essence in ways that are compelling, distinctive, yet accessible. Responsibilities: -Track deliverables in line with tight deadlines -Hire, assign and manage freelance photographers as needed -Ensure quality control in line with site style, tone and content -Resize, format, and edit photos as needed -Cross-departmental and team communications (editorial, marketing, product and production/technology, social media, photo and others), including clear, quick and calm alerts regarding needs and potential issues. Qualifications: -Bachelors degree preferred -1-3 years related experience -Extremely detail-oriented and organized -Familiar with SEO best practices as related to photography -Must have a strong interest in and, ideally, prior knowledge of travel services, especially related to New York City (hotels, Broadway/off-Broadway shows, tours, sites and attractions) -Experience working within a CMS and WordPress -Some previous management experience preferred -Must be a self-motivated team player Keywords: Media, Online, Entertainment, Publishing, Internet
