Technical Support Architect/ 3rd Line Technical Support Analyst (MCITP, VCP) wanted. Skills needed: MCITP 2008, good understanding of thin client technologies (in particular Xen Desktop 4.0) Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS): System Center Configuration Manager 2007, VCP - vmWare Certified Professional (preferably VCP 4.1 or VCP 5) Experience of vmWare vSphere ESXi (including ESX 4, ESXi 4 & ESXi 5) My London based client is looking for a Technical Support Architect/ 3rd Line Technical Support Analyst (MCITP, VCP). The role of the Technical Support Architect/ 3rd Line Technical Support Analyst (MCITP, VCP) will be to assist the Technical Design Authority in ensuring the client's service is fully operational and maintained. The role is predominately a third line technical support role for a number of systems. Within this role the Technical Support Architect/ 3rd Line Technical Support Analyst (MCITP, VCP) will interact with the IT Helpdesk and the client's applications teams with a key requirement being the ability to troubleshoot complex issues. In addition to BAU, Business Services is undertaking a significant improvement programme (BSIP) which will modernise the way the client's work. Several components of the BSIP programme rely heavily on new and improved IT which will deliver to our customers a fit-for-purpose, resilient and performant IT infrastructure. The Technical Support Architect/ 3rd Line Technical Support Analyst (MCITP, VCP) will work with colleagues, who are currently implementing new components within the IT Infrastructure to understand and be able to support any new developments. The Technical Support Architect/ 3rd Line Technical Support Analyst (MCITP, VCP) will have the following responsibilities and duties: * Supporting change and assisting in problem resolution and identifying root cause analysis. * Developing the client's PC/Laptop and Thin Client builds and providing third line support for same. * Supporting VDI back end system. * Ensuring the client's applications are packaged and distributed using Systems Centre Configuration Manager. * Provide Infrastructure Support for the client's Applications. * Managing regular patching cycle. * Provide third line support for remote access systems. * Support the TDA function in delivering designs into live service, All other tasks as instructed by the TDA. The Technical Support Architect/ 3rd Line Technical Support Analyst (MCITP, VCP) should have: * A good understanding of thin client technologies (in particular Xen Desktop 4.0) * MCITP 2008 * Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS): System Center Configuration Manager 2007 * VCP - vmWare Certified Professional (preferably VCP 4.1 or VCP 5) * Experience of vmWare vSphere ESXi (including ESX 4, ESXi 4 & ESXi 5) * A proven track record of supporting and maintaining a server 2008 environment * Experience working with remote technologies (VPN's). * Documentation skills - ability to deliver concise, accurate and timely documentation to support implementation into a live environment * Good knowledge of IT best practice, industry trends and the importance of customer service * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * An ability to deliver against challenging deadlines Spring Technology is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
