User Interface Designer
Temporary Contract Position - 40 hours/week The contract role of the User Interface Designer would interface across all areas of Product Development to prototype, design, and build user interfaces that give the Active Data Calendar software solution a modern visual layout. This includes capturing user requirements and translating them into the final implementation of the GUI based on feedback. Our ideal candidate will have a portfolio of work to share with us - showing both clean, crisp web design and examples of sleek, modern, functional interface projects moving through various screens with modern design elements. *Design a modern, aesthetically pleasing User Interface that compliments workflow and that is easy to use. *Define and develop current GUI style standards and design practices and demonstrate that they are knowledgeable about emerging GUI standards and trends. *Interview CEO and other stakeholders to determine user interface needs. *Develop mock-ups, prototypes and solicit feedback from internal groups. *Collaborate with business analysts, Web designers, and software developers to ensure prototypes can be efficiently implemented. *Educate the Developers with regard to UI standards and practices. *Ensure the consistency of the overall User Interface and creation of User Interface design components that can be extended and reused for building other components. Required: *Extensive experience as a key User Interface designer for web based software and web applications. *Proven communication and organization skills; ability to work well in team setting. *Ability to work independently. *Experience illustrating, and/or directing the creation of graphics and iconography. *Strong skills in rapid prototyping and iterative design using various graphic tools. *In-depth knowledge of GUI prototyping tools, software design, Web development technologies, and protocols. *Expert knowledge of interface design standards and best practices. *Thorough understanding of application development methodologies. *Knowledge and passion for User Interface design principles. *Excellent track record designing applications *Self-motivated with a high level of responsibility and professionalism *Must be organized, detail-oriented and have the ability to understand and communicate functional and technical information. *Proven experience in human-computer interaction and usability analysis. Required Skills: Extensive experience as a key User Interface designer for web based software and web applications.
