Our client is currently seeking a Lawson IT System Admin / Developer Analyst. This position is contract-to-hire! Utilizing expert knowledge of Lawson system architecture, this person will support and perform maintenance of Lawson Systems. This person will also develop scripting, 4GL and automate extracts, file feeds and reports, provide technical problem solving, and conduct user interaction for help desk tickets at a world-class healthcare facility. Job Functions: Perform Lawson user administration Install and upgrade new environments; product lines; and applications Apply application and environment patches Perform data refreshes as needed Document and describe processes related to the Lawson environment Work as a technical expert with customers, application analysts, developers, and other team members to support and develop technical solutions to complex business problems Perform QA testing and debugging Troubleshoot Lawson problems and work within Lawson GSC guidelines to make sure support is not invalidated Define printers to Lawson Monitor and maintain logs, files systems, and directories and coordinate maintenance with UNIX System Admin Perform or assist in the Lawson product line back-ups / re-stores Maintain log files, print files, and work files Ensure that backup Lawson System Administrators are involved in and aware of activities so that they have the knowledge to be effective substitutes when needed Document the current state of all Lawson Product Lines and keep status current Help create and enforce MCH standards and policies for Lawson product lines Develop and maintain interfaces to and from other financial systems Develop 4GL programming, scripting, and programming The successful Developer Analyst applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise): Candidates with focused experience with Lawson 9.x, Lawson Business Intelligence (LBI) and Kaufman Hall financial software tools are highly desired Technical knowledge of Lawson application suites Proven ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally with all levels Ability to communicate complicated technical concepts to non-technical customers Ability to determine severity of system issues and its effect on the completion of required tasks Ability to troubleshoot system issues; communicate effectively with Lawson support center Ability to read and troubleshoot COBOL programs Ability to write and modify data extractions programs Ability to create interface from/to Lawson Ability to prioritize and complete complex tasks in agreed upon time frame Lawson administration experience in a Windows, Oracle / MSSQL, and Apache / Tomcat / IIS environment is preferred Strong familiarity in troubleshooting and configuring IOS/Portal Experience in applying Lawson program and environmental patches Understanding of Lawson Role Based security
