You will work closely with engineers and product managers throughout all stages of the product cycle - from inception to implementation. Your role is to become the user's advocate and balance their needs against engineering constraints to create clean, usable interfaces. In addition, you possesses a solid understanding of user-centered design principles, absolute comfort working with HTML and CSS, excellent visual design skills, great technical know-how, and proven expertise in designing for the Web. Responsibilities: · Helping to define the user model and user interface for a personalized Learning and Development product · Defining and improving information architecture · Designing creative solutions that help distill complex information into easy to understand modules · Communicating the user experience at various stages of the design process by using wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, and/or high fidelity prototypes · Advocating design excellence by focusing on user needs and design consistency. Requirements: · Solid academic background in human-computer interaction or related field (BS or MS in Computer Science or related field a big plus) · Demonstrated experience in designing usable web-based interfaces and applications · Fluent in Illustrator, Photoshop and/or Fireworks · Solid knowledge of HTML/CSS and Javascript · Knowledge of JavaScript for rapid prototyping purposes - Advantage · Understanding of user research techniques and how they can be applied to problem solving. · Proven ability to act as a leader in communicating conceptual ideas and design rationale to stakeholders as well as pixel-level decisions to web developers. · Self-motivated to prioritize and manage workload and meet critical project milestones and deadlines. · Ability to work collaboratively and apply creative feedback in a team environment. · Strong, clean visual design sense · Excellent leadership, communication and teamwork skills Keywords: Web Development
