Production Manager
UICO is seeking an experienced Production Manager who is hands-on. This position will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the manufacturing operation. The Production Manager will lead Production Supervisors and staff to ensure UICO is exceeding customer expectations as it relates to on time delivery and quality standards. This position will refocus resources, drive continuous improvements and raise the bar for expectations and employee performance. The Production Manager is expected to collaborate with department heads to work toward common methods, procedures, systems and goals. The position has leadership responsibilities to drive a lean and Six Sigma continuous improvement culture leading to quality improvements, cycle time reductions, safety improvements, cost and waste reductions, inventory reductions, and on-time shipping performance. - Manages the daily manufacturing operations of the plant to ensure that the manufacturing plan is executed in a manner that meets or exceeds quality and cost objectives. - Works to continually improve productivity to maximize asset utilization and drive down manufacturing costs. - Attracts, coaches, mentors and promotes associates to develop a strong production team. - Supports a team environment in which employees work safely - Ensures that the Quality system is followed and that plant production meets product specifications - Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures - Determine staffing requirements - Perform other related duties as assigned or requested - Desired Skills & Experience Desired Skills & Experience - Knowledge of systematic and purposeful problem solving techniques to ensure root cause identification. - Ability to lead people and get results through a team of supervisors and individual contributors. - Ability to manage deadlines and production demands in a complex and dynamic manufacturing environment. - Must be able to analyze production data/reports to assess impact on throughput, efficiencies and other KPIs. - Knowledge of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing techniques. - Strong knowledge of electronic manufacturing processes, equipment and regulatory requirements. - Ability to navigate computer systems including ERP and other manufacturing programs and reports. - Candidates who do not have the requirements will not be considered for the position Company Description UICO is a fast growing company that makes iPad® like touchscreens for use in extreme environments.
