EdgeTech Consulting seeks a Desktop Engineer / Windows Migration Analyst for a 3+ month project at our direct client’s offices in Costa Mesa, CA. We are seeking local candidates as a face to face interview is required. Responsibilities and requirement: Worked on the Windows XP to Windows 7 Migration Skilled in applying Operating System Deployment (OSD) deployment strategies using Zero-Touch and Light Touch. Must have experience with Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) to accelerate and automate deployments. Must have experience with workstation automation tasks utilizing VBscript and Powershell. In depth experience with User State Migration Tool (USMT) utilizing remote and offline migration. Advanced knowledge of User State Virtualization, Advanced Group Policy Management (AGPM), folder redirection guidelines, and data migration. Assist with development, testing, and implementations of the Windows 7 deployment process; with contingency plan for recovery in the event of a migration failure per devices. Assist in the planning and implementation of remote software deployment to customer’s desktop computers via SCCM deployment services with minimal disruption to the customer. Provide technical assistance in construction and maintenance of a corporate standard desktop and laptop. Strong understanding of Systems Management concepts. Working knowledge of OS deployment to include: image management, task Sequences. Working knowledge of hardware and hardware concepts. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Experience with desktop virtualization technologies such as Microsoft Hyper V and Citrix XenServer & XenDesktop.
