Our Houston area client is looking for a contract to hire programmer/analyst for a 6 month contract to hire position. Job Requirements: * Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university with 2 to 4 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education/or experience related to the discipline Experience in the following languages required: C#, .NET, HTML, JSP, JavaScript, PL/SQL and Java jQuery * Knowledge of one or more of the following: MS SQL Server, Oracle database, XML, XSL, EDI, PL/SQL stored procedures. Oracle, Discoverer, MS SQL Server Reporting Services Special consideration given to those with: * Deregulated electric/retail, billing and/or market facing systems * Experience with IIS, FTP * Windows Server OS * Ability to apply principles of scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems * Ability to deal with non verbal symbols (i.e. formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc) * Highly motivated and detail oriented * Can respond effectively * Ease to present information to leadership via written and oral presentations * 24/7 availability for issue escalation and monitoring * Multi tasker Job responsibilities: * Track, log, and communicate issues, defects, outages and other relevant information to Applications Production Support team * Actively monitor and support productions systems * Ability to follow defined escalation paths in order to ensure appropriate focus and attention is placed on high priority issues affective revenue generating and not revenue generating systems * Following and participate in the defined SDLC, SOX, and General Computing Controls * Define metrics and monitor SLA*s for systems supported * Consistently meet daily, weekly, and monthly reporting requirements which help determine delivery goals and expectations for availability and performance to both IT and business upper management * Code, test, debug document, and implement fixes to production application issues * Implement changes to batch scheduling systems, taking ownership of the production schedule, including partnering with other groups to review job contention, job scheduling, business expectations, and issue reporting/resolution. * Actively participate in the ticket management and resolution processes, including receiving, resolution monitoring and customer satisfaction * Ensure user satisfaction by providing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and quickly resolving more complex problems * Excellent team player, with the ability to work with diverse personalities in a variety of settings * Interpret and communicate the details of the system events in a manner which effectively relays the most important aspects of the event and accounts for the technical level of the target audience APPLY NOW and a iSphere recruiter will answer your questions and give you more details.
