Functions of the Administrator: Be responsible for driving technical service resolution and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction through pre- and post-engineering technical / functional support to current and prospective customers This position is responsible for providing systems engineering support for customers in a 24x7 service organization Act as a lead customer issue resolution engineer and take ownership of all assigned tickets Act as a mentor to other engineers, as assigned and develop internal certification criteria and curriculum Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for the disciplines outlined below in job requirements Perform the duties of Level-2 Engineers, a Training Coordinator, QA Engineer, and Escalations Manager as assigned and certified Participate on rotating shift coverage, as needed, to support organizational goals Participate in the company 'on-call' program, as needed to support organizational goals Coordinate with client management to formulate highly complex technical solutions Identify and implement solutions based on client needs Inform client management of appropriate developments in technical support products Provide technical leadership to internal and external personnel on highly complex system installation and administration activities Provide technical solutions and escalated support for non-routine, highly complex technical issues Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced personnel Evaluate products and upgrades for appropriateness of cost and compatibility Oversee and implement system upgrade strategies Develop and analyze highly complex system standards and thresholds The successful applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise): A Bachelors Degree from an accredited College or University with five years of related experience Equivalents: High School Diploma or GED with nine years of specialized experience in a related field; an Associate's Degree with seven years of experience; a Master's Degree with three years of experience; or a Doctorate Degree with one year of experience VMware Engineer experience in implementing and maintaining a VMware vCenter and vSphere including 'High Availability' features Windows Systems Engineer / Administrator with data center experience supporting Windows 2003 and 2008 installation, operations and maintenance to include VMware; Citrix XenApp; and BladeLogic / Shavlik
