Development Analyst
We are looking to hire an Developments Analyst with both technical support and programming skills. Our Client provides an extensive range of analytical testing for wastewater, surface water, ground water, and drinking water samples. They analyze and send critical compliance reports generated from its Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to State and Federal Regulatory Agencies and other external customers. The Development Analyst will serve as an administrator for our LIMS. This position will be assigned to work in Elk Grove to maintain LIMS application for our Laboratory. The position will start out as a 1-year contract; however, it may turn out to be a long-term one depending on selected candidate’s performance. Selected Duties for the Development Analyst are as follows : 1. Perform as a member of our IT team with duties that include system analysis, maintenance of laboratory systems, interact with laboratory users, gather detailed requirements, and translate these requirements to create software components to meet the business needs of the laboratory systems 2. Serve as a Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) Administrator and other LIMS-related duties 3. Receive internal or customer requests (helpdesk calls) and determine validity of request and best way to accomplish the request 4. Understands the needs of the business and proactively suggests solutions, gains support and implements those solutions 5. Prepare test scripts and test software components against business requirements 6. Troubleshoot and resolve problems in the laboratory system as they occur 7. Perform other assigned duties including but not limited to MS- Office. 8. Optimize database queries (Oracle and SQL) Mandatory skills (documented in the candidates resume) include: 1. Ability to refer to manuals and learn on the job with minimal guidance. 2. Previous work experience with Environmental Laboratory. 3. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment 4. Strong Oracle SQL, PL/SQL Programming (Oracle packages, stored procedures, functions, triggers materialized views etc.), OAS, and SQL Server. 5. Experience with VBA programming. 6. Experience in writing reports using preferably Actuate but other report writing experience will be considered 7. Experience developing Lab Instrument interfaces 8. Excellent written and oral communications. Desired (Optional) skills include : 1. Knowledge of programming and Object-Oriented Programming Concepts 2.
