Modis is currently seeking UNIX Systems Security Administrator for an exciting DIRECT HIRE opportunity with our investment management client, located in the hart of Chicago's downtown loop area. Within blocks from Union and Ogilvie Metra Stations and CTA stops, this is the perfect permanent home for commuters! This opportunity will be taking the lead on administering and supporting our client's UNIX infrastructure environment, with a strong focus on high availability and operating system security, specifically in access and privilege management. In addition to general security tasks, this role will be playing a lead in several high-profile projects, including upgrading the physical servers, managing the day to day operations and ensuring data security as well as data loss prevention. Typical daily tasks include: - Providing technical leadership and support for 75+ UNIX Servers with a focus on OS Security, user access management, SSH Configuration and Directory Integration. - Working with SNMP and other system management/network management systems to proactively assess and manage the health of the network - Managing the audit requirements for both SOX and PCI compliance - Collective and reporting on the security of the UNIX systems - Providing Tier 3 technical support on OS Issues - Creating, managing and maintaining UNIX Shell scripts to automate processes. REQUIRED SKILLS - Required Bachelors Degree with 5-8+ years in the IT Field. - Subject Matter focus on UNIX Systems Administration - Expert hands-on experience with UNIX OS Security and Hardening processes - Strong experience with SSH, Perl and UNIX Shell Scripting - Experience with PCI or SOX audits is a plus - Demonstrated Network troubleshooting and TCP/IP networking skills HOW TO APPLY Qualified individuals are invited to apply for immediate consideration!
